They’re wrong!

Whether you have a big marketing budget or not, you want to rank high organically because roughly 70% of the clicks go towards organic listings while 30% go towards paid ads.

Step #1: Write roundup posts. Interview everyone within your space. Ask them each the same question and create a very detailed roundup post. When you publish it, let them each know through email and ask them to share your content.

Some of them will link to your roundup post and others will share it on the social web. This will help increase your rankings.

Step #2: Use the SEObook Keyword Density Tool. Put in your competitor URLs that rank for the terms you want to rank for. That tool will show you all of the keywords that your competition is using.

Do this for the top 10 listings for the keyword you want to rank for. Look for all of the common terms these top 10 URLs are using and use them within your web page as well.

This will ensure your content is more thorough, which will help boost your rankings. Make sure you don’t just stuff in keywords, it has to flow naturally.

Step #3: Google the term you want to rank for. Look at the paid ads and read the ad copy. A lot of the listings for paid ads are at the top because their ad copy is appealing.

Consider making your title tag similar to the ad copies that are at the top as they tend to be more appealing. By making an appealing title tag more people will click on your listing and over time this will cause your rankings to increase.

If you want to make your title tag more appealing consider adding the date to it, or use adjectives. I’ve also tested the words: get, now, free, and try. Those words tend to generate more clicks when they are used within a title tag.

How to Increase Your Search Traffic by 58% in 30 Days

My search traffic went from 283,000 visitors a month in December 2016 to 449,000 visitors in January 2017.

You are probably wondering how I grew my search traffic significantly.

Did Google make a major algorithm change? No. Did I build more links? No.

The only thing I did was adjust my URL structure. My URL structure used to be:

domain.com/month/day/year/post-title/

It’s now…

domain.com/blog/post-title/

That one change increased my search traffic by roughly 58%. The reason being is Google is now seeing my blog posts in relation to my domain and blog instead of a specific date.

The posts I write are evergreen, so there is no reason to have dates in my URL structure.

Now if you make this change, there are a few things you need to know:

1. You also have to update your internal links. You can’t just change your URL structure without changing your internal links.
2. You need to 301 redirect your old URLs to your new URLs.
3. You have to update all of these changes at once.

If you are building a site from scratch, don’t make the same mistake I made. Have clean URLs, and don’t have too many sub-folders.

That’s all you need to do to get a 58% increase in website traffic in 30-days.

Have you used 301 redirects for 404 error webpages?

Maybe you used a different url structure or something completely different to get more visitors to your website?

Well, the first thing you need to know is Alexa ranks websites based on popularity. Alexa gives each website a number and the lower the number the more popular a site is. 1 being the most popular site on the web.

You ideally want your Alexa number to drop, which will mean you are growing in popularity.

The first thing you can do to increase your Alexa rank is to install their toolbar. The more users going to your site using Alexa toolbar, the better your rankings get.

Secondly, you can share your content on the social web. The more visitors that come from the social web, the higher your visitor count, which means your Alexa rank will improve.

Third, anytime you link out to other websites, shoot them an email letting them know that you linked to them. Within the email ask them if they can share your content. This will again help you increase your total traffic.

Last but not least, use Ahrefs to see who links out to your competition. Email them and literally beg for a link. It is tedious, but it works. This will help increase your referral traffic.

Just follow those steps and your Alexa ranking will improve.
